Hey Guys sorry to ask this but Only you guys would know the answer to this question. Not to long ago a couple of buddies purchased me light bulbs because they all bought them and they just so happen to look great on their cars. They wanted me to have some too. Now will these bulbs be safe to install on stock harnesses and wires? Im afraid that it might damage something in the Lexus and that would not be good.

The bulbs that they bought were: Arctic White Pro Halogens H7 100W (low beams)
9005 120 W (high beams)
H3 100 W (fog lights)

Testing shows that nearly all "high wattage" bulbs are actually dimmer than cheap normal spec bulbs, while using less power. Further more, if you ever DO get your hands on bulbs that can suck a high wattage, you're going to melt your wiring & possibly start a fire.

Cheap generic sylvania bulb is BRIGHTER than silverstars, piaa's, high wattage bulbs that really are not.

At any rate... Crush those bulbs, you're in a loose-loose-loose sintuation.
1) They're not real high wattage bulbs
2) They're stupid blue <insert blue, tawainese lenses here>
3) They're going to kill you


You need to throw them on the ground & step on them. Then call your friends deroggatory names.

 

Yes the bulbs are dimmer. Why? The coating takes away some light that passes through the glass of the bulb. Also the bulbs will not melt the wires, but it will melt the HARNESS. The "super white" bulbs are NOT Xenon. They are falsely advertised. They may even be advertised as "H.I.D." They are just regular halogens with a blue or silver coating (or any other color). They are no good. You are better off with stock, or as Pheonix says "get some H.I.R replacements."

 

Ok One last question What wattage will harm the wires and harness in the Es300?

Oh and I found this today actually, these are the lights that they bought me. The box said that they are 100 W but this website says it only draws 55Nokya Arctic White H7 . Does that change anything?

 

Ok. Once again, the wires wont melt. The HARNESS will melt (after a surge). The wattage that will affect the harness? Anything that's higher than stock. If you worry about the harness melting, just go buy some after market wiring (I don't recommend using the bulb at all). OH and by seeing the product, that light is actually going to be DIM. I've tried some blue tinted bulbs before and they suck. Visibility is poor. One last thing. Are you just going for the look of the light or the performance of the light?

 

I really like the White look so more of the look then performance? But is there any light out there that gives both the look and performance? And if not whats a good bulb to buy for performance?

There's H.I.D, and there's Toshiba's HIR.
H.I.D, for the look and the performance, but costs a lot.(about $250+++)
H.I.R, more towards performance. (Costs about $30) Possibly the best halogen bulb for performance.

Whats a reliable/ good HID kit or whatever is needed to get HID?
Ive seen a lot of arguments on club lexus about certain kits being crappy and not and also that its better to build your own kit. But then people argue that its not worth the time and effort.
What would you recommend?

 

There's this one kit. It's called HID Plus II. It's the original OEM HID kit that Lexus and Acura Uses. I was digging through my old superstreet magazines and found the product, but I tried to look online for it and can't find it. (the magazine is like 2 years old ) Oh and one more thing.
