Red face cv joint toast!

Well i get to replace the cv joints on my car. After lowering it... the cv clunking has begun. hell though. 160k isnt bad for the first set. Quick question. At the mileage i have, should i just replace the full axle? If anyone has any tips, ide appreciate some input. Thanks

Cool

Always replace the full axle. It's a $20 price difference to get a new inner joint & all the boots.

Wow, 160k and your first cv boot lasted along time!

You could replace it with a whole new axle, but I'm assuming its not oem w/ non-oem boots. aftermarket boots don't really last long at all, especially with a lowered car.
Perhaps bringing a set of oem cv boots to the re builder?
Good luck anyways.

Its not the boot though its the whole joint. thanks for the heads up on the price difference(or lack there of) while they are doing those i need to have the A-arm bushings done also....what bushing in the rear should be replaced as well? i always forget the rear one.

if ur getting some suspension noises/rattling in the rear over bumps, possibly worn sway bar bushings (~$9 ea oem there are 2 sway bar bushings for each front&rear sway bars). make sure your mechanic lube the inside of the new bushings before installing.

Cool

Na he went through some stock. He split another pair before the turbo. He'll have to chime in on if it was just the 240+ N/A, or after he was that & put the first n2o to it.

Last I remember he hasn't just broken the CV joints. Sean has split the axles in
