Old Man's questions??
I am 61, and have a 96 ES with 117000 miles. Turbo has been a dream from day one when I realized that this great car longed for more power. I would have to have someone do the work for me. I like this car, and want more turbo info. Here are a few questions.
Would the turbo screw up the "civility" of the car? Would it still be smooth and reasonably quiet? Intake noise welcome, but NOT that ratty sounding ruckus I hear out of Japanese cars with stupid looking big blat exhaust pipes. (guess I owned too many American big blocks, but the exhaust notes of these little cars sound worse than rap music)
Would power stearing and AC still work?
How about reliability? Would the turbo need more maintenance? How about tuneups, would it tear up plugs? Is my 117000 motor and trans too old for this, would it self destruct with light to moderate abuse?
How much would it cost for a turn key installation? Who could do this?
PS... what about the Camry supercharger? That was built for this same basic engine.
Thanks
