Not sure if this has been talked about before, but my power antenna is broken on my 96 ES300..

The motor burnt out or somthing, is there a way that I can get a replacement from someplace other than lexus to keep the price down?

Anyone help me out?

 

Do you know for a fact that the motor is out? When power antennas go, it's usually the worm gear thats stripped. turn your radio on and off and listen to see if you hear the motor running. If so, it's the worm gear that needs to be replaced. It's a worm gear/antenna mast assembly you can buy at your local Lexus parts counter or better yet, get the Camry version 92-96 from the Toyota dealer. It's a simple fix a friend can help you with. There is a crapload of replacment antennas on ebay.

 

You could also try a junkyard/salvage yard. My local mechanic bought one at a local junkyard for $50 and installed it for another $50.

Yes, $50 for the motor, and antenna mast from a local junkyard. I believe the mechanic got it off of a junked Camry.

 

if you still hear the motor running , it is just the cable. The whole mast and cable are about $40. Buy one for a 95 camry.
