Default Sway bar bushing replacement

Kind of a simple replacement, but my question is, do I go with all OEM parts?

Also, do I need those brackets that cover the bushings to be new, or can I get away with using the old ones?

OEM rubber is best and not expensive in this case. Nothing wrong with reusing hardware assuming it's not rusted out. If you're doing the fronts especially be careful not to strip the bolt heads.

Hello,

Just be careful with the Rear bushings, as Toyota apparently combined the original Part Number with the one for a Camry, which has a much thinner sway bar, I learned it the hard way. Original Part Number is 48818-33050, if you look it up, OEM Lexus Catalogue crosses it to 48818-06090, which does not work for ES, and presumably for RX as well. Below is the picture comparison of both parts.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Awesome. Good to know. I’m going to replace those, then maybe the end links a little later on. This probably should be a different thread, but is it ok for those end links to twist a bit side to side in-hand? Because both sides do. Seems like it could be normal but I thought I’d ask anyways.

It is okay for them to pivot around the mounting nut with slight tension, so long as it moves smoothly and there is no backlash in any of them. If you feel slight ticking or grainy sound coming from them, or if it stays in your hand when you pull it, then you will know for sure that you need new end links.

Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thanks for the tip. Toyota's parts catalog is becoming more and more frustrating.
