Default My Dream. Thoughts in Progress.

I decided to talk about this, as I want to guage what everybody thinks.. I understand that we all drive an ES. And there are many reasons for why we chose this particular vehicle. As for me. I really do love my car. But even for me. I am finding it to be a little out dated, and very hard to keep improving. Plus the added fact that this model seems to be the hardest thing to find mods for anyhoo.

So where do I go from here? I love the Lexus line of models. But none have really caught my eye. While living in Japan. Lexus is indeed Toyota, and so to see an LS or GS or even an IS or SC is nothing new for me, as they are common here.. The Es has remained my personal favourite.. Now as I mentioned, the other models that I have said have had no real effect on my wanting to invest in one? And so to stay with the ES, I would have to look at second gen 02, 03, 04.. Thats ok. But... I dont like it..

Now I am certainly not saying this to offend. And have talked to second gen owners about this before.. I will use Steviej as an example. He drives a second gen. Why. Because he likes it more than say a first gen, or another model of car. (just an example) .. As for me. I prefer the first gen. But as I said. I find it a little out dated now.. So where does that leave someone in my situation?.. Well. I like the new Toyota Camry.. Now before people start laughing. Please hear me out.. I like the exterior of the Camry, as I feel it has an edgy look to it.. It seems to have a well shaped compact look for a large size sedan.. For me it just seems better thought out than the Second gen ES..

Now. if I could have the interior features of the Second gen ES ripped out and put into the new Camry. then I think we would be onto something. As this will never happen, I am only dreaming.. The new ES has a beautiful and tastefull interior. It was the first thing that drew me to it! I love the shape of it.. Then include the rest of the features. And then you would have a wonderfull mix of Camry and ES.. I have seen some new Camry's back in Australia. And what these guys have done to them is amazing. They not only made them look like a luxury sedan. But as sporty and edgy as they can can be..

I havnt been able to find a decent picture. But I played around in paint shop, and put a sports kit on a Camry just for fun.. Anyways. Let me know what you all think. I think it is interesting to know what everyone likes. Or would like to see in the future?

I haven't driven the new Camry, so I wouldn't know how to compare it to the new ES.. I've driven it, and it's awesome. Very very very comfortable. The only problem was the way it accelerated, it kind of "stalled" or sort of misshifts in the early gears... I'm not sure if they fixed it for the new ES330, but I'm pretty sure they did. As for looks, both look good to me.. A kit/drop/rims would make both look even better. If I were you, I would take the car which most fit my budget and my expectations. Try and take both for a drive and see where it goes.

Here's a Camry with a Vizage body kit.... Looks pretty slick.

Oh yeah. I totally agree with you about all that. I have had a chance to drive both. But what I was refering to. Was that I just find the Camry to be a little more compact and edgy, as compared to the new ES. We have alot of newer ES Windoms here. And I have seen a few that have been lowered and kitted out.. But for me. I guess its the fact that I feel the newer ES looks bloated and fat. With those big headlights. And the back lights look kinda put in there to make up the pattern? The Camry for mine, is along the same lines and shape as the ES. But just seems to be a little more proportionate than the ES as far as the headlights, taillights and shape goes....And again. I prefer the interior of the ES. But the exterior of the Camry?

Again. This was not a thread to offend second gen owners. I just wanted to see what people thought as the difference between the new ES and new Camry..

Ok, I am not a technical kind of person.. I am someone that just enjoyes cars for pure driving pleasure and asthetics.. Sorry for getting my Gens mixed up.. Never claimed to be an expert.. I guess using the word gen was my way of making a distinction between the different body shapes of the ES 02+ as compared to the ES 92+ ...But i'm sure people kinda got the point as to what I was trying to say? I thank SK for sharing his over willingness to assist me with my mistake. But you never actually stuck to the topic, and gave us your opinion regarding the subject?

[Hoe bag: my friend has the full vizage kit on his 03 camry.. jaw dropping...]

Yeah I am liking it more and more also Hoe Bag..

From a design aspect i prefer the 00-01 ES in stock form and an 02-04 with a complete body kit which is extremly rare.
