I believe you have to brake torque to around 1500 RPM. When tree hits green light, release brake and floor it like a mad man.
1500RPM is way too high. You will end up spinning too much. ~1100-1200 is perfect.

Yeah, I turned off traction control. I didn't look at the RPMs, but I did just enough where I felt the car pushing on the brakes slightly. I barely had any tire spin that way, thus the decent 60 foot times (I think they were decent... I was able to pull of 1.6 and 1.7s in my old STI, so 2.0 for RWD can't be horrible). Yeah, I just wanted to let you all know how I did with a completely stock car. I'll probably post them on dragtimes.com ...

Smokyis350, what mods do you have to your IS? 13.1 is an excellent time and is right where I'd like to be IOT call it a day.

Those are about rite time for a stock. I ran 13.6 for my stock 350 with half tank of gas. I thought by the time i get to the track an 1hr away it be less than 1/4 tank. But i got better mpg than i thought that day hahaha...

Yeah, I totally forgot about that. I was about 3/4 tank.

I have AFE Stage 2 intake, Nvidia midpipe, and F-sport exhaust. But I do have 19 inch wheels but still managed to pull a 2.04. I ran consistent 13.1 approximately 4x in ~60degrees weather.

Here is my timeslip on dragtimes:

Edit: My times were done with less than 1/4 of gas.

How loud do you find it to be? Also, how much of a difference did the midpipe make?

Excellent times. No shame in barely losing to a 400 HP SRT-8.

It is quite loud but is still bearable as my daily driver.

The midpipe adds 1-2WHP. Not much difference.

If I went with just the F-Sport exhaust and Joe Z intake, would I see gains? How much louder would it be? I have 2 kids, so I don't want it to be too loud. I sold my STi because it was beyond loud (well, no cat will do that I guess).
