Tony Leung's '94 V6 Camry Turbo, First 1/4 Mile Trip
Fastest Camry in history.
First time at the track. Full street trim with the new lower compression 9.0:1 pistons GT40/88 @ 22psi.
Untuned on 9.0:1 pistons (Using previous 10.5:1 piston tune, same psi)
468 WHP and 431 ft-lbs - 599bhp / 551ft-lb.
Street tires, all subs/audio still in the trunk.
No brake boosting at launch, just idle, gas, and go (keep in mind, it's a 4500rpm stall convertor, along with a 7psi first gear boost limit giving him the 2.5s 60' time).
Small clip of one of the passes:

This is an easy 11 second car with slicks, a tune. NOT including the engine can handle alot more boost on the new pistons. The man himself:

Pheonix...thanks for the link. I sent this to friends and family.
By comparison, my fastest 60 foot time in my RX300 (and at altitude of course) is 2.694. I can easily run 2.7s in competition, 3.0s on solo runs.
I was interested to hear that he does not brake boost. I used to do that when I first started with my RX, then after careful observation I give it a slight touch (750 RPM idle to 1000 RPM) upon seeing the first yellow...never anything before. I have AWD, so that also helps.

He's just saving the transmission. Keep in mind his drivetrain by itself is worth more than half the ES's on this forum's KBB value.
He's suffering from some bad wheelhop. To anyone not up on what that means, thesuspension can't keep the drivewheels on the ground to get power down. They hop on & off the ground. This causes massive accelleration when it hops & deccelleration when it lands & has friction again.
Nothing can kill anything on a drivetrain faster than wheelhop. I think my best 60' time was 2.4 with no traction. Eh. If he launched it hard it'd be retardidly fast for a 3400lb grocery getter. Stock for most cars with this basic engine/weight combo should be around 2.3-2.5s.
He's also rolling 205/50-17 R-compound tires.

Very impressive Camry and amazingly fast. I want my ES to do that...

It's not slow in the least. it's an 11 second car if he launches it. What do you want?
You go spending more than 7 grand on a drivetrain (not engine) & have wheelhop problems & see if you stick slicks on it & let it rip on a track with no grip LoL!

Believe me...it is very fast. I have seen stock modern generations of the current Camry at my track and even equating down to sea level, what Tony Leung has done is extraordinary.
Granted, there are other vehicles out there, but the drop in times between it and a stock 94 Camry are phenominal.

^ Especially considering it's the first time It's ever seen a track, and not even tuned for the current setup LoL!
Like Tony's always said. the Camry is a daily driver. The fully built turbo integra with ITB's is the race car! (Yes, ITB's with a turbo... mmmmmmmmm!)

That´s so true Pheonix. First time I took my RX300 stock to the track I clocked 19.6 (of course at altitude) but with minor variations to the stock vehicle, including my launches, go that down to 19.2. Everyone goes through that learning cycle with each vehicles, regardless of their previous driving skill...though I imagine Tony has outstanding skill nonetheless.

this guy should embarrass (or should at least keep up with) the majority of other cars on the road today
