Default Lift kit or something that will add clearance?

Hello all! I joined this forum for a pressing issue that I’ve had with my 2012 Lexus ct 200h. I live in a mountainous area that gets a decent amount of snow each winter and I find that the car tends to bottom out on occasion and it’s given the car some body damage. I’m wondering if there is any way to “lift” the car so it has a bit more clearance? I love the vehicle and really don’t want to get rid of it but I also don’t want to damage it through another winter as it is my daily driver and I don’t have a secondary vehicle. Thank you in advance!

Hmm.. So you want to make your stock height + additional height.

I know people that are lowered add cup kits to their coils but thats to make a lowered car higher.

You bought the wrong car for your environment.

One thing you can do is get taller tires. I'm running 215/50/17s right now (stock is 45 instead of 50). It actually looks good, but I lost 4 MPGs.

I’ve realized that, but there isn’t a whole lot I can do now besides keep the car or accrue more debt, but thanks for the helpful comment.

That’s a really good idea especially if I can get taller “winter” tires and then enjoy the mpg when I do most of my driving during the rest of the year. Thank you!

wait so people spend money to lower their car only to raise it at the same time? Is it like the lowering kit takes it down 2" but they only want 1"?

I agree with Raidin, easiest would be to get a set of taller tires (make them snow tires) and only use them during the winter. that way you aren't killing your mpg all year long.

I live in the city and have scraped my door several times on the sidewalk due to the car sitting low. I wish there were a practical solution available.

Theoretically you should be able to also mount some sort of spacer between the shock tower and shock mount too. nothing crazy. I'm guessing you'd have to make your own though. Contact a machine shop or something. Or maybe they exist somewhere for another car (look it up)

Same for the rear spring perch. Maybe double up the spring pads which can be bought stock. May have to modify them (may). that should get you some more clearance in addition to tires (assuming the tires aren't enough)

Make sure you get an alignment after.
