any comment on cvt transmission please?

I used to think they were the end of everything I loved in this world and the only thing worse than an Autotragic transmission.

Now I think they are fantastic in the proper application.

What are your actual questions about them?

i dont know anything about transmission, hows the maintenance and reliability of the cvt , i dont see any comment regarding this, specially for the lexus. do i need to know something to take care of my transmission? thank you so much, i really appreciate your ans.

Other than the CT gets "buzzy" under full acceleration, there are no problems I've heard about. It is a Lexus after all.

All engines (and bicycle riders...) have an efficient tempo. Look up Torque Peak RPM
and that's it. CVT are better than stepped transmission at keeping the motor at the best
speed. Add the task of combining a peaky piston engine with an electric motor that
produces torque from one (1) RPM onward and the Planetary gear sets in a CVT is
ideal.
