Default Trunk Space in the CT?

I am looking for a new DD as well as equipment hauler. My SC, which I love very much is still running soundly, it's just that I can't carry anything in that car without having to play Tetris. How is the trunk space? I will probably get seat covers if I need to fold down the seats as well. I'm not carrying anything large per se, but eventually, a few Pelican cases here and there and some C-stands take up a lot of room. My main checklist for a new car was space and MPG. I would get a 09 or 10 STI Hatch, but gas stinks on that car.

EDIT:

And by trunk I mean the rear.... it is a hatch

Default

The seats fold completely flat, which helps a bit with the space. But until you fold down the seats, there isn't a lot of room. Enough for probably two "pelican cases" with the toneau cover removed. The c-stands probably won't fit unless they can be dissembled down to pieces shorter than 5-feet or so.
