The navigation model needs a replacement Android Auto radio that slots in to the old radio place. I see cheap ones for non-Nav versions, and ridiculously expensive ones for Nav ones. Has anybody explored using the one made for non-Nav version in a Nav CT?
I was thinking to replace my Navi head unit with Android too as I wanted to have real time traffic and a bigger screen. I hate the way to inout address in the original navigation so much. Instead of going through the trouble prying out things from the dashboard, I ended up getting a mid range 10.5" Android tablet for $250 and mount it with a CD slot magnet mount.
I took advantage phone calls and music can be connected with 2 different devices simultaneously on the CT.
I can adjust the music with my steering or the volume ****.
Music of your choice (I use Apple Music) streams to car's Bluetooth either the tablet or your phone.
My tablet is running the latest Android 12 with continuous security patch updates.
GPS navigation voice is output via car speaker.
Real time traffic by tethering.
I have been using this at up for 3 years and I recently finding my tablet is getting slow so I replaced it with another with the current specs.
The tablet is blocking the AC buttons but you have a Navi model. AC can be adjusted via the original Navi screen.
