It’s hard to pass at that price & miles. I think if you keep on top of the EGR you'll be okay, that thing getting clogged is what leads to head failure.

There are videos on YouTube to guide you through almost any possible repair, the CT/Prius platform is extremely well documented.

IIRC, I was looking at 2015+ for some revisions those years had. What I *really* wanted was a Blue 2015+ CT F-Sport with heated seats and NO nav, but was never able to find that combo.

I then was going to get a 2015+ ES with NO nav but ended up with a 2014 Acura TL for less than half price of the ES.

Lexus screens with the horrendous joystick controller thing are egregiously bad. It took them until 2023 to figure out people want touchscreens.

The second gen CT in the UK looked great, wish we got it in the US.

I’ll leave you with this: Buy the car you want. You won’t have the itch to swap it and you’ll keep it longer, ultimately being a better value.

Edit: had PCV & EGR mixed up.

If you keep on top of the EGR cooler, EGR valve and intake /EGR ports cleaning, then it betters your chances. PCV is good to change, but its impact is minor.

There were minor revisions to the engines in 2015+up, so waiting for one of those could be your best bet if it's going to keep you up at night.

Yeah you’re right. I had PCV & EGR mixed up. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm having second thoughts after reading all weekend about experts and owners saying avoid gen3 Prius or CT200h.

it drives smooth, and was previously certified by Lexus.

Recently the PCV valve was replaced, throttle body cleaning was done, cooling system serviced, transmission service, brake fluid service, and new tires.

Should I wait for something more reliable, or will I be ok with this one?
I have a 2012 ct200h with just a tad over 100k miles on it. I haven't had any problems with it at all. If your car is in good working order, you should get at least another 150k miles without having to think about a new hybrid battery. After all these years, I still like my ct200h.
