If your TPMS light is always on it means either one of the TPMS transmitters has failed or the TPMS sensor receiver has failed (not likely). The TPMS light is something that fails ON, meaning it will go on whenever it fails to get the signal it wants from the tires.
I know this because I created a TPMS bypass switch in my car so I can turn off the TPMS ECU when I use my winter tires (they don't have transmitters). The switch cuts power to the ECU and sends a 5V signal to the light to keep it OFF. I know it sounds backwards but that's the way it is. If the ECU does not get the tire signal it wants, it will stop sending the 5V signal to the dash light and the light will stay ON.
I check my tires often so I don't care about the TPMS warning.
Has anyone got S302-05 error code (unable to connect to VIM) with Techstream? Received my cable, installed software to XP 32 bit laptop, laptop detected cable after connecting it and installed drivers.. there's red light on the cable and car was powered on by two presses on the button.
I rebooted the laptop, switched car off and on but this error just keeps coming. Do I need another laptop?
I'm starting to think that cable is DOA. It shows no signs of life when I connect it to the car without laptop (led doesn't do anything), and error behaviour is the same whether the cable is connected to the car or not. My other ELM327-type bluetooth OBD-dongle works great with the car..
I did not try XP but it this guide worked for my Windows 7 64-bit http://www.toyota-4runner.org/genera...-8-64-bit.html with a few changes:
1) Use the latest Tech stream from here: http://www.toyota-tech.eu/GTS/Wizard...-Software.aspx
2) You may skip step 4d if you're connected to the Internet - the drivers will get installed automatically
3) Instead of overwriting IT3System.ini file just edit it and change TISFunction to 0
Thanks for the suggestion ahtoh. My problem was that I didn't notice those correct M-VCI drivers on the disk at first. I installed them and Techstream started to work instantly
edit. FYI, the cable I ordered was the one usando had bought in his second message on this topic. I can recommend it too, Firmware tool is showing 2.0.4 FW just as it should.

The seller on that link was not nice in his comments to a feedback, that's why I found another.
Just checked the link, it looks like he deleted his comment, I cant see it anymore. But believe me, it was a comment that stop anyone from buying.
I should have taken a screenshot.
Hi all and thanks for sharing the info.
I am about to buy a cable for my 07 Lexus ES to use it for TS and I'd like to see which are the good cables people have successfully used ....but it looks that the links are outdated.
is there a specific manufacturer/model which would work without questioning too much....aside from the firmware version?
