Pretty obvious that was the issue not enough sold to make it feasible. They should have said so initially we need such a build number before ramping up. I love my new mats so I'm doubting I get any.....but I did buy a set for my truck recently,

I'm encouraged by USANDO's post. I have Weathertech mats for my TSX and they are waaaay better than the Lexus mats that came with our CT 200!

low production volume is a BS excuse. they make floor mats and a cargo liner for the LS600. an $80K luxury sedan that sells in very small numbers. in 2011 in canada more CTs were sold than LSs.

in 2012 over 64000 CTs were sold
http://lexusenthusiast.com/2013/01/2...sales-in-2012/

combine with 2011 and i'm guessing there's at least 100000 of them on the road. weathertech sells the liners for $200+ just for the fronts. assuming they make $100 per set they need to sell 500 to break even on the "up to $50k per mould". that's 0.5% of the CT owners out there. realistically they make more than $100 per set and it costs < $50K to make the mould.

bottom line it takes < 0.5% of CT owners to buy the liners to make it worth their while. there was enough demand a long time ago. weathertech is just slow to respond to their customers and don't want to own up to it.

More BS from Weathertech, they told me 8 weeks 3 months after the introduction of the CT. There is enough bad press that hopefully they are not just saying it this time to shut us up.

I got the Lexus ones and hate how they move around, but now being out of snow country I don't have to worry about it as much as I did before.

About 32k sold total in the USA. They don't worry about worldwide sales, I'm quite sure. Other countries have suppliers of mats.
If EVERYONE that owns a CT buys Weathertech mats that is a solid number. I'm quite sure the percentage is low , really low.
Maybe LS has been out for quite some time while the CT is newer. Nevermind Weathertech's owner might drive one or his buddy. I'm not making excuses but anyone that thinks production numbers doesn't drive them is crazy plus entry level cars usually have less income to dispose of. I got winter mats already posted the company they are excellent for snow and dirt I never use them in summer months anyway. Not as form fit as the WT's but they work well.

It'd be nice if WeatherTech actually sent out an email announcing its availability to those who requested this item, wouldn't it?
