It probably helps that its warm as well. I've noticed my mileage improving quite a bit as the temps go up and the batteries become more efficient.

 

Ha ha, surprisingly, no I wasn't. Fairly flat terrain the whole way, not many hills. I'm now at an average of 48 MPG since I picked it up, have used the AC a bunch with this heat. Still amazing mileage!

 

I have calculated it twice, because I didn't believe the display.

My last two fillups yielded slightly 45.5 & 47 MPG.

This beats what I ever got on my 2006 Prius that I traded for the CT

 

High 40's would seem attainable considering it's a Prius motor. I have a CR-Z that gets about 38-40 and have been considering trading it for a CT to drive back and forth (saving the IS for weekends of course).

can anyone attest to the CT getting better or worse mileage around town vs. highway?

 

Depends on how far you drive.

If you do short routes, like 1-5 miles with lots of stop and go, then around 40. If you do longer routes, like 10-30 with less stop and go, expect much higher. Freeway driving around 45 with cruse control on for long distances (which is surprising).

If you drive without the A/C on and other accessories off (radio, DRL's, etc.) then expect higher. But if you always have your A/C on and have the radio blasting, expect closer to 40 or less. (I tested this out a few weeks ago)

 

In my case, city driving is always higher than highway. For instance, my commute home from work, the fist 2/3 of the drive is highway and the last 1/3 is on a rural road with a couple of lights (about 15 min. of driving). Once I get off the highway, the average MPG starts to go up all the way home.

 

I have a 2014200h, 2800 miles. My MPG is 30.8. The sticker indicates 40 and 39 MPG. The best I can find is that most 200h Lexus are getting the EPA estimates. Anyone have info on whether the EPA estimates hold for most 200h? Thanks Jim

 

I have a newer CT F Sport and have filled up twice now. As previously stated, I don't know how full the dealer filled the tank...the first fill up was 36.8 MPG. Second fill up yielded 41 mpg. One ping only (click). I've read that the MPG's get better as the car breaks in. Computer showed 42.3 on the last fill up...so pretty close. On the current tank the computer is showing 44.9 MPG. I haven't used sport mode on this tank intentionally to see if eco mode helps...seems to so far.

As far as handling compared to the Prius...night and day. I've had a number of sports cars, the last being a Boxster S. It's no Boxster, but it sure is fun to drive.

 

My 2013 CT200h is EPA rated for 43 city, 40 highway. I've found these figures to be accurate, if not a bit pessimistic. The long interstate road trips (70-75 mph) I've taken have netted 39-42 mpg and the local driving I've done has returned much better mpg. I typically get 43-46 mpg in my short commute to work and my most recent tank of country cruising netted an outstanding 51 mpg. Tire pressure is 37 psi front, 36 psi rear. Outside temps > 60 degrees help tremendously.

I have a 2014 F Sport and I am just about to get onto my third fill up, the car is telling me I am at about 47.4 MPG. From what I have noticed, I get better MPG in traffic since I get to coast in EV mode. I would love to use sport mode more, rather than just for passing cars on the freeway or something, but I do try and get the most MPG without driving too slow.

I have about 6k miles on my CT and i consistently log my M.P.G. on Fuelly and I float around the 46 mpg. I think Fuelly is a great resource for real world MPGs but it is really dependent on driver habits and types of commute.

 

manual calculation is key! don't trust the CT dash! My first year MPG stats of owning my CT... took delivery on 1/12/13. 18,798 miles driven, an average of 43.3 MPG, an average paid of $3.35/gallon for regular gas, and spent $1,483.81 on regular gas. i had a bunch of mods done as well. i live in NJ so i don't pump my own gas. there were a few times where the gas attendant over filled

some other stats are:

highest mpg on a fill was 46.73, i went 516 miles on that tank. my most miles per tank i got so far was 527.9, i got 46.44 mpg on that one. i didn't have an intake yet for those 2 data points.

 

No doubt the longer period of time and the more fill-ups used to manually calculate the average mpg, the more accurate you'll be. The readout on the dash is just a guide but isn't too far off if you remember that it's a couple mpg optimistic.

The 51 mpg tank of which I posted the photo was a bit of an anomaly because I really tried hard to hypermile and the conditions were just right. Real world mpg average over time is right there in that 43 mpg range. Spot on with the EPA estimate.

My previous post indicated that the 51 MPG tank was an anomaly. Well, what I didn't say was that it was a tank of 90 octane 100% gasoline (no ethanol). I repeated this "anomaly" after filling up again with the same pure gas. This time I got 500 miles out of the tank and filled up with 9.6 gallons. I'm not really sure it's worth the extra $ 0.75 per gallon, but it sure is fun to watch the MPG's go up.
