To the person asking about programming it yourself. You can't, I checked. You NEED the Lexus Scantool to program the key.
Also, Just a heads up to some people. Supposely once this wallet key is programmed, it cannot be reprogrammed to another car. Not 100%, but tried once, and it failed.
I might just have to try this thing out. As far as the key itself, I have an electronic key card to get in my office and its not that bad. I keep it in my wallet and to get in I wave my wallet in front of the sensor and BEEP I'm in.
I guess my question is how thick and heavy is the key? Is it uncomfortable to carry around?
I called a Toyota dealership near me and they said they can't do it on a Lexus and they actually charge more to program a regular car, $85/hr., while the Lexus dealership I called charges $55.
Yes, I love it. It's very convenient. Not needing to worry about looking for my key. Just need to grab my wallet and cell phone and I'm outta there.
When you lock the door, i'm assuming you press that black button the handle?
I'm forgetful sometimes and i leave my door unlock and i realize half a block later. I put the keyfob under my chin to lock it. If i get the key, I might have walk back to the car to lock it -_-.
