V160 6spd Adapter Plate & Clutch Kit for the GS400/430 and SC400/430
MVP Motorsports is proud of offer for the first time on Club Lexus these V160 6 speed adapter plates and clutch kits. As most Club lexus members know, the V160 is the exact 6 speed transmission from the almighty 93-98 Supra Turbo. The transmission will hold nearly anything that is tossed at it, and is one of the smoothest shifting 6 speeds ever installed into a producton car.
This manual transmission swap will apply to:
SC400
SC430
GS430/400
The group buy will be in effect from Wednesday January 31st, to February 14th, 2007. The adapters are being produced now to meet the demand, and the clutches are a per order item. Once the group buy is finished, we will put in the order for the clutch kits.
The kit would include:
1/3uzfe - V160 adapter kit w/ grade 10.9 metric custom cut hardware and instructions.
100% bolt on Quarter Master dual metalic plate clutch w/ flywheel, and throw-out bearing.
Just imagine your GS400/430 with a Supra V160 6 speed behind it. Crisp shift, less drivetrain loss, and faster accelleration. With the carrier ratio of the GS being 3.26, the V160 6 speed is the perfect choice. For years the dream of a 6 speed behind the Lexus V8 has been unattainable, but TTC has solved this problem.
Limited Group Buy Pricing for the kits:
Clutch Kit - $1,575
Adapter - $575

A couple quick points for the guys who are wondering:
... The clutch/flywheel kit uses the stock auto flexplate, as the flywheel is a button type.
... Total weight of flywheel/clutch kit assembled is 19lbs.
... The adapter plates are constructed from pickled mild steel, and yellow zinc coated after machining to prevent corrosion.
... The pedals are Toyota stock number:
Brake pedal:
47101-14230 brake pedal list 49.67 cost 36.88
Clutch pedal:
31311-14120 clutch pedal list 42.18 cost 31.32
... The clutch slave cylinder is a out of the MKIV Toyota Supra turbo
Thanks guys, happy to serve the Lexus V8 community!

10gs? No sir. I think if you'd even purchase a V160 brand spanking new it wouldn't approach 10gs. On average, the driveshaft costs ~$300.00, and the going price for a V160 is ~$2000.00. The adapter kit will infact bolt directly up to your LS400. The Lexus V8 family carries the same flange through every motor.
Now a 6 speed LS400 would be something to see. The would make for some amazing highway cruising.
Thanks,
Eric

EV ftw!!!
Is this a dream come true???
I can turn my auto GS400 into a manual 6-speed??
Clutch Kit - $1,575.00
Adapter - $575.00
Drive shaft: ~$300.00
Brake pedal: $36.88 (why do we need a new brake pedal anyway?)
Clutch pedal: $31.32
Clutch slave cylinder: cost?
Right there we are looking at ~$2518.20
Anything else needed?
I have the Auto Supra TT rear diff/LSD with the 3.76 gears. Would this need to be swapped out to the 3.26 gear diff?

wow
Will the tranny ECU get in the way of doing this? What kind of hidden costs are we all looking at to do the swap (LSD?)?
I have a GS4 and have been waiting for this for two years since I bought the car, probably even longer considering I held off on buying one since it only was available in auto but gave in anyway. This will breath new life into the car, making it a whole new beast and tuning platform for sure. Props to the vendor for taking the steps to produce this.

Figure on average a used V160 6 speed is ~$2000.00. The V160 is great in that either it works or is doesn't. That means that all the gears shift smoothly, or at lesat one will be notchy. That means that if you come across one for $1500.00 and is guaranteed to have all gears working, then it's just as strong as a trans right next to it for double to price. As mentioned this is one of the best 6 speeds ever installed into a production car.
Thanks man!

No sir, you can use your 3.26 rear end if you prefer. It'll give VERY good street manners. The stock MKIV Supra rear end ratio is 3.13 and the upgrade is 3.27, so the GS guys have it made from the get go. Installing the auto Supra rear end is ideal, but definitely not required for the swap.

I was wondering about the rear diff simply because I already have the 3.76 Supra TT rear end installed over 2 years ago and was thinking I would have to swap that back out for the 3.27 instead.
Now where would one find a used TT tranny?

If someone wants a brand new tranny, I have them at the best prices but they are still very expensive compared to used.

The 3.27 would be optimal for day to day driving, but the 3.73 would rip as far as acceleration is concerned. More power will be reaching your rear wheels, so the 3.73 rear woud launch the car hard. Luckily the 3.27 and 3.73 rear ends are interchangable so it can be tailored to your needs.
Try Supraforums for the V160 trans. They come up for sale every week it seems. They go fast when they go up for sale, though.

The price is right on par with other dual cintered bronze plates on the market, although this clutch kit is very nearly a one off. Multi disk is the way to go in the Lexus due to the light pedal pressure and ability to hold the TQ that later upgrades may provide. This clutch will provide the road manners that Lexus owners desire.
Thanks man!
