Paragon Automotive in Monterey Park : S2K Scam Story
I know this doesn't have anything to do with Lexus ... but man the S2ki community sure does have a camaraderie. Interesting/entertaining read.
Story starts out here:
http://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/1148...ot-ripped-off/
Yelp Page:
https://www.yelp.com/biz/paragon-aut...onterey-park-2
To be fair, I'm sure there are 2 sides to every story. It's improbable, but maybe there was another deal we don't know about. I'm sure there's more to the story. Maybe the shipper stole the parts. Who knows.
Then again, who pays $33K for a used S2k

Expensive lesson, but thats the risk you take buying out of state and not local. How much did he really lose with all those parts missing? At least his engine is running fine. Couldve been worse.

KW V3 Coilovers = $2,200
Hardtop Stand = ??? (probably a couple hundred)
The thing is, he flew out and saw the car in person. Drove it with the listed mods. Payed for the car in person with the listed mods installed. The lesson here should be to always get everything in writing. Every little mod on a car needs to be listed and signed off on.
It would be like buying an IS350 F-Sport. Handing the money over, and then Lexus goes ahead and removes all of the F-Sport add ons and gives you a base IS.

So if that is true, he would fly home to NYC, find out his car missing the mods, fly back to CA to file suit, fly home and wait for court date, then fly back to fight his case. Or he can hire a lawyer in CA to represent him. And even if he wins the case, its another mission trying to get the defendant to pay up.

Youre right, but also even if it was in writing, its no guarantee unless he drives it home himself that day. Its a huge hassle to take him to court. Im not a lawyer but I "heard" that if you want to sue the person, you have to do it in that person's county or something like that.
