Detailing Help!!! Adhesive Residue leftovers...
Hello my fellow CL'ers,
So today i decided to take off my trunk spoiler and it left a nasty residue that i could not get off with goo-gone. I also noticed some kind of weird glue like build up.
Can someone recommend me a shop that can take care of this problem? I'm in need of help.
I would also like to do a full detail and swirl removal.
Thanks!

I see a lot of swirling and marring in your paint already.
I think you should find a competent, well regarded professional and have the car compounded and polished, and have this residue removed.

Hmm, have you tried wd-40? My Zep rep told me once that wd-40 was initially developed as a cleaner. I've used it to clean off any glue-like reside on my cars. Just gotta spray it on and let it soak for 5-10 mins and then wipe it off.

Your paint is in poor shape as it is and would really benefit from a proper paint correction.
I would also highly recommend a paint coating like CQuartz Finest to preserve that perfect finish after having your car properly detailed. CQuartz Finest is the hardest, thickest, glossiest coating on the market today. It offers resistance to light scratches and swirls, extremely durable protection, and an insanely glossy appearance. More info here.
Here is who I would recommend in Southern California:
Elite Finish Detailing
Owner: Wes Walz
Main: 858.876.8794
Cell: 858.848.4684
Detail@EliteFinishDetailing.com
Poway, CA 92064
If that is not nearby, you can find other trusted professionals on this map
Feel free to let me know if you've got any questions

Mine also has this from wald spoiler I removed. I figured it was fixable if I wanted to take it in to a pro detail company but just haven't got that money just yet. If you have it done. Post some more before/after pics.

Here is what properly polished jet black paint will look like... this was a black toyota (paint code 202), but it is essentially the same as Lexus Obsidian.
The OP's paint appeared to be very similar condition as this one, which is why I felt the need to share it for some added motivation to have it taken care of!
It might just be an Avalon, but it is the shiniest Avalon around. This car was corrected and then coated with a premium coating for superior protection and shine.
Again... give Wes a call, he'll get you taken care of. I sent him a link to this thread and he would be more than happy to get you fully taken care of.
