Had a buddy of mine inquire with the guy about checking out the wheels in person, no response yet. Notified the police and all they told me to do was leave a message with the detective who was handling the case...I swear, LAPD pisses me off sometimes

The guy posted his number on the page. I spoke to the detective and she said I cant prove theyre mine since I dont have any positive way of identifying them....WTF?!

I would go over there myself but I kind of want to avoid the confrontation considering they know where I live.....

What do you guys think I should do?

If cops wont get involved, i dont know how to get them back besides buying them from the dude... You gotta keep the guy thinking youll buy them so he doesnt sell them off while you get the cops on your side. You dont have serial numbers or close ups to prove the wheels are yours once you see them in person or get better pics from the guy?

(Sorry I'm the wrong regional section, thread caught my eye. Sorry this happened though!)

umm... half the suggestion up top will get you on the front page of LA Times..

have your buddy go and confirm the wheels are yours.. if so, but down a $100 deposit on them..
pick them up with the police..
