I had my AEM V2 tuned by Mitch from PT Tuning and he did a fantastic job. I'm fairly confident in his abilities as he was a former engineer at AEM and tunes basically every professional race vehicle sponsored by AEM.
You could also go to Koji at Drift Speed, a lot of my friends have had their cars tuned by him and always great results.

CT200H Reprogram ECM
If this is wrong forum please direct me. Looking for specialized shop to reprogram the ECM. The motor idles hard with vibration and tapping noise but smooths out when rpm goes up. The shop we took it to said this is what's wrong(?). Questions:
Is dealership only option?
Anyone aware of recall dealing with this?
Thanks for any input!

Reprogramming a stock ECM is not the solution to your engine running rough or for solving vibrations or tapping. Reprogramming your ECM is typically done to increase power or mileage - and should only be done after the engine is running well. If your ECM is already modified and the shop was recommending that you return the ECM to stock, that would be good advice as a start to figuring out what is wrong. If they were just blindly recommending reprogramming your stock ECM because the car isn't running right I'd strongly suggest you never go back to that shop.
I'm not aware of any recalls, but there could be a number of causes for the symptoms you describe - and none of the solutions I'm aware of would be to reprogram the ECM. You could simply need a tune-up, there could also be loose or damaged engine or transmissions mounts, failing coil packs, a fuel filter might need replacing, a fuel injector could be failing, air filter could be clogged, MAF could be fouled, etc., etc.
I'm not an expert on Toyota/Lexus engines (or any engine for that matter), but unless the 1JZ requires special tools and knowledge I think you'll be able to get help from any decent, well rated Toyota and/or Lexus specialist. If you're having a difficult time finding one, look for well rated Toyota/Lexus performance shops - they may be able to help or recommend a local shop that can be trusted.
