Front License Plate - LAX
#22
ive noticed that they do like to look for the no front plates. glendale and even the greater pasadena area are very particular about that too. zip ties work to a certain degree, but it makes the car look bad. still, thats better than paying for a fix it ticket.

The ONLY thing cops have been able to screw with me over in the last few years is not having a front plate...so when i got my GS I just left it on. Haven't been screwed with since and I don't have the same level of dread anytime I see a cop approaching me. Maybe just put the plate on if you know you have business in or around the airport. I live right by the airport and for me I have no choice or I'd be getting screwed with almost daily.

Man, they stopped me through a checkpoint last time a went. Then my passenger missed her flight so I came back around and they stopped me again.
The guy was like, "You've been here before." ( I know, you keep stopping me instead of everyone else)
*LEANS ON MY SIDE MIRROR (WTF??)
"What's under your hood?"
me: "Nothing sir, I just have an exhaust from the previous owner."
him: looks at me for a while.."ok move along,"
*as I drove away..
his partner: "his car was lowered!"
cracked me up.. lol

Lol.. Happened to me twice. I got pulled over but got away both time
good excuses: I just got into a car accident recently and waiting for dmv to send my new plates.
I just drove the car back from Mississippi and over there they don't use front plates.
Worked both times for me haha..

I have my plates on now after having two parking related plate tickets, but I have driven to, around, and dropped off and picked up people at LAX countless times without an issue. I guess i just kept getting lucky or maybe its just been nuts since those tickets... hated to see the front get messed up with the afterthought of the front plate... lol but CA plates sorta look glacier frost mica anyhow.

In addition: cell phone, headset/MP3 listeners, speeders and parking ticket offenders. Put the plate on...I'm hearing of it more.
Not long ago, I read about an initiative to boot violators with as few as 3 parking tickets. Crazy... Proposed in Oakland:

you know frankly I don't see why you guys whine about it in the first place. You all know that you are supposed to have a front plate on in the first place...And eventually you will get caught... Especially if you drive any import and not some classic domestic car, and pretty much everyone knows cali is broke so the cops are gonna nick you for anything they can. I'm not saying I'm better than anyone else and a law abiding citizen, but I know that I'm breaking the rules too but when i get caught i get caught don't blame the cops or the security for doing their jobs... Just remember your always taking a risk breaking a law that you don't agree with and eventually you will have to pay for it
