too bad I still haven't found anyone to carpool with. LA is too spread out and public transportation is not extensive enough sadly. I easily put 2K miles a month. Anyone want to carpool from OC to El Segundo? hehehe.

my commute time has decreased about 5-10 mins but i think it's due more to the fact that its summer time and kids are out of school. once falls rolls around the dreaded commute will be back...

not sure what or where you guys are driving, but traffic seems to be the same for me. same crowded freeways, same idiot people, same people driving suvs. if anything ive seen 5 newly regsitered hummer h2's in the past 3 weeks around where i live. the only thing i see different now is people seem to be driving slower, which pisses me off since they are usually doing it in the fast lane.

I agree with AM1. Traffic is not so great still and people drive slower in the wrong lane. Monday's used to be light traffic but sucky for the past several weeks.

That's a good thing for GM. With their recent downgrade, I wouldn't be surprised if they go belly up. They were hot news on CNBC today.

All these end in "Because I don't drive."

Gas lasts much longer
I don't have to complain about commuter traffic
I'm not irritated at other drivers as much
I have more $$ to spend on other things
Auto insurance will go down
Bodyfat has dropped a percentage or so because I can devote more time to riding my bicycle
Riding the bicycle has been good for my heart
At this rate, I'll be in the very good physical condition for my age...

I actually ride my GSXR, it's not just a show piece anymore. Plus my g/f hates my motorcycle so she usually drives me around now!

Hmm only positve I see is less cheap junk cars I have to worry about on the road and worry about hitting me and thats about it still too much traffic and more bikes (motorcycle) means more people splitting lanes biggest negitive more road ragers over stupid stuff, and it still costs 80 bucks to fill up each time
