For a novice I agree, but not if you're already accustomed to it. The IS-F was placed in Super Stock (SCCA Solo) where it goes up against the Z06, Viper SRT10, and 911 GT3, all of which lay down significant power and in the case of the GT3, even harder to control (but rewarding if you can do so) and anyone that can wrestle a viper around cones has bigger nads than me anyways.

Turning off VDIM makes a big improvement in my is350's handling for AutoX as well.

having driven quite a few lexus, i say the vdim system on the is-f is something else. it's nothing like the normal vdim on "normal" lexus, it's pretty forgiving

Agreed. VDIM on the IS F is totally different than the IS350. Having nearly kissed a wall with a 911GT3 myself I recommend for the IS F that unless you are a professional keep sport mode ON and Trac ON. This loosens up VDIM quite a bit and let's you get pretty sideways if you want.

I autocross nearly every weekend if that counts I have a ticked off wife and a drained budget to prove it.
