engineering ettiquette
Last month a rock hit my windshield and caused a chip...that prompted me to pay special attention to the vehicles i follow on the roads and freeways...
Anyone else notice how great the japan automakers are...with regard to the subtle politeness engineered into their vehicles...each and EVERY model of toyota vehicle i've noticed has mudflaps, I mean EVERY MODEL, and so do most other Japanese makes, however i just havent seen domestic vehicles with these.
it just makes me happy to know that Japan automakers are conscious about the little details in their engineering that effect other motorists and thereby reducing the number of broken windshields on the road... less wasteful/ stressful glass repair.

are those toyotas? i guess i mean cars with toyota badging vice lexus. In the case of Lexus, i believe their wheels are covered sufficiently by their lower stance, lower bumpers and side skirts to negate the chances of a rock flying off of it due to gravity and the necessary angle of trajectory.

i have mudflaps? i know my hondas did...
and ya i actually had to finally change out my windshield on my honda. i stay away from the bigrigs...i think they kick up the most crap.
cost me about 100 and took about an hour or less. i dont remember exactly the name of the company, but if it's just a chip that can be fixed for like 20-40.
