Default Any recomendations on a solid wheel and tire shop.

I recently bought rims and tires. The offsets are solid but due to the spoke design I cant clear my brakes. Most tire shops that I've been to dont want to touch it because I will need spacers. Do any of you know of any shops that can help me get acurate spacer information? Any help is greatly apreciated.

you should only need a 5mm spacer to clear your BBK. Post up on the Benz threads that your rims wont clear BBK and they should know but I'm 99% sure 5mm is all you need. I had to do this on my IS.

Do you know what disc type the rims are? A Disc or O Disc?

I posted and it seems like everyone seems to have a different idea. Some members are saying 3mm upfront and others are saying 5mm and some guys that know theyre wheels are saying 15mm-17mm. I don't want to dish out 100 on quality spacers to find out I should have measured.

Your rim is going to dictate this. If its A Disc then 3mm may work. If its O Disc then 5mm. Worst case you will need a 10mm spacer. There is no way you need 15mm to clear your BBK.

I ran into the same issue with my IS. We called Work Wheels and they said a 5mm spacer would work. Are you able to call the wheel Mfg? They will know what you need for your car. Maybe sell the fronts and order R disc so you wont need a spacer?

I rather have it measured first. Measure twice cut once. So does anyone know of a shop in the Chi are that could take care of this?

Buy washers from Home Depot. They are cheap and its a good and accurate way to determine which spacers to get.

BTW, what retarded tire shops are you going to?? Why not take it to a performance-based shop? We have many in the Chicagoland area...

if your in park ridge, try fizz autosports in arlington heights (www.fizzautosports.com). i don't know how bad your clearance is but even though you may not want to spend money on bigger spacers, you may HAVE to.

also what wheel and what car is this? have you got bbk or just the factory brakes? a lot of things are very vague here
