Corvette to become a brand ?

not sure how i feel about this :p but Car & Driver reports...

Corvette to Launch as a Brand in 2025 with a Four-Door and an SUV

These new EV spinoffs will reportedly aim to distill the "essence of Corvette" in terms of design and driving dynamics.

...It will include a four-door "coupe" and a sporty high-performance crossover to partner the upcoming two-seater Corvette EV.

If it happens it would be similar to what Porsche did going from two seaters to cuv's, suv's and sedans.

Hoovey689 Nov 30, 2022 07:17 AM

Mustang Mach-E did it, no surprise Corvette wants a piece

Stroock639 Nov 30, 2022 07:17 AM

so now we're gonna have a Corvette Corvette? or Corvette LaCorvette?

JeffKeryk Nov 30, 2022 07:53 AM

Corvette 427-E. A SUV Corvette is as much a Corvette a the Mache-E is a Mustang. C'mon Ms. Barra, you can do better than that.

The SUV makes total sense. The Europeans are cleaning up on performance SUVs, with no US competition. AMG, R8, Aston DBX, Urus, Ferrari. Big market for those, especially for older drivers who can't get in and out of the low slung sports cars anymore.

Yet another brand will diluted and ruined, but honestly it won't matter since EVs are all same going forward so brand will be nothing more than styling/badge.

Toys4RJill Nov 30, 2022 09:00 AM

for some reason I just don’t care.

I agree.

Doctj Nov 30, 2022 09:05 AM

Mustang Mach E vibes all over again.
furthe brand dilution

Hoovey689 Nov 30, 2022 09:11 AM

Will be cool to see a 4-door Taycan Corvette competitor

AMIRZA786 Nov 30, 2022 09:39 AM

Since I was never going to ever buy a Corvette in my life, it really makes no difference to me. Although I will admit I do have nostalgia for vettes, had a few posters on the wall growing up in the 80's with the bikini models posing with them. That is until mom had to interfere and tear them off my wall...

Seems kinda crazy and maybe a little desparate or not really sure what the word to describe it is, I'm lost for words.

Trying to picture a Corvette cross over too and all I can do is lolololol.

That's why I keep coming back to Club Lexus, I get my car info here.

totally disagree. depends how it's done. maybe the current corvette coupe will become the corvette 8 or something.

but honestly it won't matter since EVs are all same going forward so brand will be nothing more than styling/badge.
that is so wrong, lol. so a porsche taycan and a tesla model x are the same? :D

so the coming roll royce ev will be the 'same' as any other large luxury ev?

as discussed before, there's handling, ride quality, steering, infotainment, features, quietness (not all ev's are the same), as well as performance (even then different ev's are not equally fast).

Oh it will. It will feel the exact same as any other EV SUV, just like most Porsches sold are SUVs now and are nothing like their cars and have more in common with SUVs from other brands. As cars become more and more like phones they will be less and less special
