No one said you did. I said reviews, you responded with reliability. Not really sure what you're arguing anymore. So enjoy your day

Buick. The brand fell 7 spots. That’s not my opinion, that’s Consumer Reports

Probably because of the Enclave (which is shown above in the picture). It is the most unreliable Buick in the American market.

Buick, overall, though, is still fairly high on the reliability, list. And they outright won the J.D. Power Initial-Quality-Study, which shows how well vehicles are assembled at the factory....notwithstanding the fact that my special-ordered Encore GX needed a new AWD-actuator before it was even delivered LOL.

BTW, Jill......here is a direct quote from that report.

Top-ranking domestic-branded vehicles include the Buick Encore GX; Chevrolet Trailblazer
You also like to pan Hyundais and Kias. The new Santa Fe Hybrid took one of the highest spots among hybrid SUVs.

Hybrid SUVs and plug-ins are the third most reliable category with a score of 65, with the Lexus NX Hybrid, Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid, and Toyota Highlander Hybrid and Venza taking top honors in the category.

UVs.
Buick reliability went down for the Encore GX. Was 4/5 in 2020, 3/5 for 2021, 2022 and 2023. So it’s not just Enclave.

From the latest reliability article of Consumer Reports:

Top-ranking domestic-branded vehicles include the Buick Encore GX; Chevrolet Trailblazer and Blazer; Ford Edge, Maverick, and Maverick Hybrid; and the Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus.“

Are we done with the Buick? Should we go back to the lists?

The annual CR reliability report is, at best, informational. This is not a rigorous statistical analysis.
  • Reliability is not defined rendering it meaningless. Are panel gaps reliability?
  • Very small sample size. I think they tested 2 MBZ models.
  • Captured (biased) survey group; made up of CR subscribers.
  • Only newer cars. Most new cars make it through 3 years. Then what?

With all due respect, Buicks are part of the list. Can’t separate the two.

What list are you referring to? Because there are no Buicks on either list in the OP.

Isn't informational the whole purpose of these reports? I didn't read into the reports but I think the overall is reasonable/expected. What is it from these lists that you didn't expect to see? The current GLE is sure a bad apple regardless what sample size it is.

True, but they were on the CR most-improved and most-worsened lists that Jill and I were discussing. But, since 1111GS is a moderator, if he (or she?) considers that to be too far off-topic, then, fine…so be it.

No offense, but you missed the point of my post. It is a survey of CR subscribers; it is not a valid statistical survey. It suffers from the points I listed.

What is reliability? Reliability can be defined as the probability that a product, system, or service will perform its intended function adequately for a specified period of time, or will operate in a defined environment without failure. CR apparantly uses reliability as a catch all bucket. As a buyer, how does that help individual buyers?

I like CR because it doesn't accept advertising. But the sample size is ridicously small. I much prefer owner satisfaction surveys and find more detailed information from user forums.

JeffKeryk - 100% in agreement here with your posts... it's like only surveying the church congregation about whether there is a God and which one is best.

CR’s data base of survey-experience is anything BUT small…it numbers in the many hundreds of thousands.
