Same for me. I get a discount for paying in one instalment.

Ours are 6 months for auto, annual for homeowners, personal articles, and umbrella, but they all have different renewal dates, so we just pay monthly. There used to be a tiny charge for this (like $1.30/mo), but it looks like they don't have that anymore.

Did you say you were with Progressive? I didn't know Flo offered 12-month policies....that would be very unusual nowadays.

Progressive...but actually Geico offers 12 month policies too:

https://www.policygenius.com/auto-in...car-insurance/

Insurance companies usually offer either a six-month policy or a 12-month policy, but some insurance companies offer both options. For example, GEICO offers 12 month policies to customers who have at least three years of a clean driving history.
Liberty Mutual, Erie, USAA among others also offer 6 month policies. Its not that unusual.

Just wanted to provide an update:

Kudos to SW for providing me a good contact for insurance. As mentioned earlier my Plaid is $2,300 a year, my X7 is about $1,624 a year and my GTR is about $950 a year. No tickets or accidents ever. I just checked USAA and the rates were about the same.

I just got a quote from Erie and my Plaid is $914 a year, X7 is $977 and my GTR is $500 and this is with even better coverage. My umbrella premium is better and I also don't need to pay for jewelry insurance which is included as part of my homeowners so that saves me about $700 a year just for that.

Great! Erie is great too. The guy who rear-ended me in the LS a couple years ago had Erie, and they were phenomenal to work with.

If you got tapped on the rear it should be the other cars fault. Why would your rates go up?

Hit and run. No one to claim against, it's freaking brilliant. I don't know why I bother trying to keep my stuff nice and waste so much time looking for near perfect cars.

I'm about to just trade everything I own in and lease a brand new S63 or S8 and stop caring, to hell with wasting money since at least I'll get a new one every three years.

Should still not hurt your rates as long as you don't have other claims...

I don't and I'm debating just dealing with this out of pocket

I got hit a while back by an uninsured motorist. I filed the claim on my insurance but didn’t suffer any rate increases. I had to pay my deductible, which was later refunded to me after my insurance recovered it from the driver.

Same, although mine was "insured". I would bet State Farm spent $20k or more going after a $3300 claim. Three different outside law firms for different stages of the process. After 3 years, I got my $100 deductible back. No change to our rates, even with two claims in two months (other one was my fault, also minor).

I think they have a corporate vendetta against these BS "insurance companies"--whose business model is simply selling insurance cards--and will take any opportunity they can get to make them suffer. Even if, on any individual claim, it makes no economic sense.

I called Costco. $1000 lower than last year. I’m so happy
