I used to like him, but I always watched his videos and thought "that doesn't sound right." My final straw was when he was reviewing the new BMW Z4 and talked about how the car will lock itself when you walk away from it. I don't get how someone whose job is to review cars didn't know such a feature has existed for a long time. Seems like to me when he doesn't know something he makes it up and acts like it's a fact.

I'm not talking about Doug, I'm talking about the guy in the first video I posted.
BMWs can be set to lock when you walk away from them, FWIW.

^^ My 2004 RX330 has this feature so it's not new, I concur. lol
Doors lock after about 60 seconds of leaving car and closing all doors.
Maybe shorter or a little longer, never timed it but it's somewhere in there.
That's part of the allure of owning a car with horrific QC, you get to tell anyone that points it out that all manufactures experience it.
or you can rationalize it with what you already have:

if you get one, hope you're happy with it. i'd rather take a 'slow' but well built taycan or etron-gt with worse range but decent brakes and awesome interior.

no one (except you) mentioned anything about being perfect. this guy is just a super creepy tesla fanboy. he reminds me of the 'pat' character of saturday night live.

I didn't realize they don't come with turn signals, I knew there is no shifter but that lack of signal would be a deal breaker in any car for me. Talk about nothing to interact with.....

yeah you have to LOOK at the left side of the steering wheel to figure out where to touch.
of course that's even more fun to do while you're TURNING.

They do have turn signals, but they are buttons. Not a deal breaker for me, but the yoke is. And the carbon fiber trim falling off. And....never mind

They don't have the range, I wouldn't buy any EV without at least 350-400 miles of range.

Are you sure about that? No Lexus I ever had did that. If you unlock them and dont open a door they will lock, but they don't lock when you walk away. Your RX doesnt even have keyless entry and start...

That and he jumped the Rivian line, paid a pre-price increase amount, and pretended as if anyone could do it. When in actuality he contacted someone he knew at Rivian to get him an unassigned truck that had just been built. He pissed off a ton of people. Also, he has a shady background deal with Magna to plug anything they make.
