Yep...it had a reputation for better-than-average handling from its (for the period) relatively low center of gravity and effective steering. The looks come from what was known as "Bathtub" styling that was popular in the early 50s...resembling an upside-down bathtub.

Lots of real chrome.

Not the fake stuff we see today.

Back then you always needed to have a can of chrome cleaner and polish in the garage.

With the exception of a few brands (especially Pontiac) metal chrome bumpers were more or less the norm well into the 1980s, before being replaced with the black or body-colored vinyl/rubber caps we mostly see today....although some full-size pickups still have a vinylized chrome finish.

It's the K9, a relative of the Genesis G90.

It's no longer sold in the US due to low sales volume, but previous generations were sold here as the Kia K900 and Hyundai Equus.

I'm pretty sure that it's basically identical to the Explorer ST from a mechanical perspective, though obviously much more utilitarian in design.

The Ford plant in Chicago builds the Police Interceptor and it's not unusual to see a transporter full of them on the roads around here.
