That is actually another problem in NJ, at night a lot of their gas stations are closed. You may be running on fumes somewhere in the middle of a bumblepluck, NJ, desperately trying to make it to a gas station, only for it to be closed.

In NYC all gas stations are 24/7.

I have some family is NJ (inlays) and I avoid getting gas. I remember one time the person pumping the gas didn't close the gas cap and i ended up with a check engine light on. Turnpike is the worst but if you are passing thru NJ from south you have no choice.

Back in the 90ies and early 2000s, almost every gas station here had a few full service pump, where the price per gallon was higher than at self service pumps. Nobody was using the full service pumps for that reason, so now nobody is doing it anymore, but there are a few stations with full service at all the pumps, and they usually have the same prices as self service stations, so you tip the attendant for the convenience.

I personally do not like full service gas stations, since the attendants have a bad habit of over pumping the gas after the pump shuts off, which causes gas to enter the charcoal canister, and once it gets overfilled it is a very expensive repair.

Nope! The measure is dead...self serve gas will remain prohibited in NJ. They will remain in the dark ages for now.

(I could only find a NYT article, so sorry to those without access to the site)
