An extreme statement. Granted, some of them are less than honest, but to say that they are a bunch of mobsters is simply absurd. That's like claiming that every school coach molests kids, or that every cop tazes you for no reason at all.
OK, 9 out of 10 then are dishonest. Physically trying to stop someone from leaving because they didn't agree with the dealer pricing is criminal. A Ford dealer once took my grandparents keys from them and wouldn't give them back trying to force them to buy a Ford Explorer. Criminal, bordering on false imprisonment. Playing on people's insecurities and trying to make them feel obligated, which I've experience many times, unethical at the very least

Yep, and they wouldn't bring my car back to me that time....stuff like that too. So instead there was a small scene, over a deal they made peanuts off of in the middle of the day at a dealership. I wanted my old car back and they hid it behind and wouldn't comply.

If I took your car and wouldn't give it back to you, I would go to jail. Or get a black eye...or worse . So basically they get away with things most people would get in trouble for

Lol it was straight out of the first Vacation at the beginning where they took the car away fast, lmao.
"I'm just as upset as you are. -Davenport!!!!!" But they didn't say anything like that, hah.

I've had this happen twice, each time at a Ford store, once here in Columbus while the other time was in Cleveland. Each instance was instantly resolved when I threatened to call the police. Neither store got the sale although in the latter case I had a local store trade for the Cleveland car.

This is Cali...I'll be the one ending up going to jail. Verbal threats mentioning a weapon can at the very least get you in the back of police car
No comment, I lived there. Open and concealed carry are both legal here. That said, you don't ever see people armed....it's not a Western.
I would never, ever advise to use a threat with a firearm unless in imminent legit danger. Just, "You are trying to force me to be here against my will, get outta my way...btw I am armed" to the scumbag manager at the dealer. The nerve they have to try that is mind-boggling. What is it, jail? Free country.

Agreed. But still, mind-boggling. The nerve of trying to keep you inside.
It definitely is, the guys who do that are usually working on commission. Since about 2006 I began to only deal with the internet sales guys, they are usually salaried so much less pressure from them
