Dang it! lol

I keep getting them switched up in my mind.
I meant the bigger Enclave, that's the one I saw parked near my car.

Yes, Buick does seem to like to name all of their American-market products starting with an 'En"...it can get confusing to those who are not used to it.

Thanks. Check out the new 2024 Encore GX, and if you can, get some pictures.....I understand it's going to be the feature-introduction there, which is rather unusual. New-vehicle introductions are usually made at the Detroit or L.A. shows, although the Detroit show has been declining in importance lately, and has even been moved from January six months later to June.

I suspect that the new GX shown there will be Canadian rather than U.S. spec......which would mean different instrumentation and maybe (?) different bumper-strengths.

As you know, I had to miss the January D.C. show this year due to my leg-issue, although with recent treatments/prescriptions, it may be starting to improve. Steve went with his son, but he apparantly wasn't very impressed.

Don't care for the new front end, but the dashboard is a huge improvement...

I'll have to wait until I actually see it and try it inside the new vehicle, but, from the images, I'm not impressed with the new dash. It looks cheaper than the former one....perhaps from cost cutting.

It will be interesting, though, to see the new top-line Avenir version....the old Encore GX did not have one.

Much better screen, virtual gauges, much more user friendly and modern.

‘Checked out the encore tonight. The new screen is not implemented well. It looks good in the pics, but it’s slightly angled downwards. It’s weird and hard to explain.

I have noticed that in a few GM products with screens, I really don't know why they do that. In the Acadia I rented in FL, both the gauge screen and the nav screen were angled downwards...

My guess is that the Encore is made in Korea and designed in Korea. So people are shorter and smaller on a Korea. A flaw in the design that doesn’t work for taller North Americans

The screens are angled down to minimize glare and reflections from the windows.

If that is why they did it, then GM has a terrible design in that model. It’s super awkward the way they made it.

This is a significant part of what I do for a living. I have no doubt.

Definately better ways they could have dealt with glare...like the ways every other manufacturer does lol

you have no doubt it's "super awkward" or that they did it to minimize glare?
