The difference between an NA V8 and a turbo 6 is negligible within a brand.
Furthermore, 4LS vs 5LS - the LS500 weighs something like 340 lbs more than the old LS460.
Hence LS500's fuel consumption is even better considering how much more it weighs over LS460.
G90 is very sad.
Even when it was a Hyundai Equus with nearly 1000 dealerships, the Equus still didn't sell.
I bet the next gen G90 still won't do very well against the yardstick Mercedes S Class and BMW 7 Series.
I bet the next gen G90 will won't sell well against the flop of the current LS500 either.
I suspect the next generation 6LS will go back to grass roots design.
Just look at the stability of G90 sales compared to the literal drop off the cliff that is the LS500. And that's including the year before the G90 dealer network got halved again.

The way things are shaping up, I bet there won't even be a new LS sedan after this generation. That's what happens when you flop in your core market.

Those turbo V-6 engines may get better mpg on paper but in the real world they will not. A lot of strain will be put on a 4300 pound car or a 3-ton LX by having only a V6, so the driver will want to really hammer it. As a result, gas mileage will be the same as a V8.

No, the 6 gen LS will have a turbo-4 to get an extra 1/4 mile per gallon better. I heard Toyota is developing a 13-speed automatic. Extensive testing was done and, due to increasing safety regulations, they decided to scrap their already incredibly downsized windows and will go with a camera system for looking outside instead.
It would be sensational if Hyundai put a v8 in the next gen G90. They’d have instant prestige cred if there was V12. Sadly, I do not think the G90 will clear 400hp with their 3.5tt

Doesn't the new generation G90 make over 400hp with the optional electric supercharger?
I always thought the outgoing G90 looked bloated, especially in the back. Hopefully Genesis got it right. Will know when seen in person. G80 looks smaller than I thought in person and on the road and lacks presence (but looks sensational at the dealer). Hopefully G90 has some presence.
