The point is why would you ever have to replace the entire seat? You wouldn’t. The components within it are replaceable.

You'll probably laugh when you hear this, but my brother once had a Renault 5 (LeCar) where the entire driver's seat broke right off its mountings.......he had to brace it with a piece of wooden board LOL. Back then, you couldn't beat a French-designed auto-seat for comfort/plushness and support, but in some cases, they just weren't designed for big heavy Americans that put a lot of weight and stress on them.

I can't remember the exact numbers, but it think the price to fix was almost $3500 with labor at the dealership. I just asked the price of the entire seat for fun. I think it was around $800 to order the frame piece used of ebay and have a local upholstery shop repair. I can't remember exact number, but those are the best I remember.
