Default Paralysed IndyCar driver races again in hi-tech Corvette

A touching video. Skip to 6:00 to see the eye-sight technology they're using to turn the steering wheel

I remember going to my only Indy Car race in Dover, DE with my dad around 1998 or 99. I did not really know any of the drivers but for some reason decided to root for the number 99 car which was driven by Sam Schmidt. It was the last Indy Car race at Dover and he/his number was really the only car I followed a little from Indy Car at the time. Then I stopped paying attention for several years and looked him up again for some reason and saw where he was in a horrible accident that left him a quadriplegic and I felt so bad for him. Glad he is able to race now with new technologies.

Thanks for sharing this Hoovey!

It's hard to imagine wanting to carry on with life after becoming a quadriplegic. Sam is truly an inspiration to all. Hats off to an incredible person!
