Default Fatal DUI Crash in CA Bay Area

This one hit home for me as I lost a sister-in-law to a drunk driver many years ago. She left behind three kids, luckily who were not in the car with her. The perp who killed my sister-in-law got only seven years in prison and was out in three, in spite of having three priors and driving on a suspended license at the time of the accident. I don't get it, but his family was well-off and could afford good lawyers. American justice...for sale to the highest bidder!

This crash was even more horrific as the Corolla was transporting a family of five and the three kids were ejected, the youngest along with the child's seat. This perp, also with priors, was under the influence and can be seen almost smiling as the EMT's attended to the victims (he's being handled by law enforcement at the time). Preliminary reports said he was diving his Camaro 85 mph in a 45 mph zone when he rear-ended the Corolla!

Quite astonishing that the sentences for DUI and death are so light.

Actually not astonishing at all, given the attltude of much of today's American society that people aren't responsible for their actions, and putting all the blame on police.

Prayers and Condolences for those killed/injured and/or who will be affected by this senseless crash. RIP.
