Porsche is adamant about synthetic fuels and having ICE cars in the future. Hopefully this can come to fruition- even if it’s $100 gallon- people will pay it to drive their special cars on the weekends or at the track.

I don't think they will ever ban the use of gasoline. They can ban the sales of ICE but gas will always be available somewhere and for far cheaper than any synthetic fuel. I personally think they will lift the ban on ICE and have a mandate on the ratio of EV to ICE heavily favoring EV but allowing manufacturers to sell niche ICE vehicles. ICE still has many advantages for enthusiast driving that can't easily be replicated (much lighter weight due to energy density of fuel etc...).
