car dealerships and salespeople reap what they sow.

And you can be sure of one thing. If a car dealer accepts your offer, you left money on the table.

dealerships/sales people aren’t making much money on individual deals. It’s all back end incentives and volume bonuses, enabling factory invoice prices to be set high so customers think that getting invoice pricing is a good deal. Which it usually isn’t.
