The cigarette smoke smell must be pretty bad and they can't completely get rid of it if they put a big disclaimer on it like this. Previous owner must've been a degenerate chain smoker that smoked like a chimney. I have a friend in the car business and showed him the listing and he said -

"Is that real? Nobody does that! In my 25 years in the business, I've never seen it."

Haha. I assume that even ozone treatment couldn’t get it out. It’s got to be really bad if a dealer can’t get the stank out.
Or maybe there are cigarette burns on the upholstery, carpet, pillar, door trim and center console?

If people actually smoked in it, I wonder where they (safely) put the ashes. Most vehicles, years ago, stopped including standard cigarette-lighters and ash-trays. It went to being an optional "Smoker's Package"....and then pretty much nothing at all.

Flicking the ashes out an open window can be dangerous, particularly if the car is moving....the ashes can get blown back into the car (usually to the rear seat or carpet), and potentially start a fire. That's been known to happen.

Companies all sell a smokers kit that uses a cupholder.

I don't think there's enough of a discount available for me to take a cigarette smoke soaked car. It would ruin the entire experience for me. It would bother me every time I stepped in the car and my mind would play tricks on me that I could still smell it even if I could somehow get it clean. They didn't seem to discount the car at all for the cigarette smoke problem. These cars retail for about $100K new and they are asking $70K CPO which is about what they go for "clean".

We need some professional car detailer experts to chime in. My guess is though that once that heavy cigarette smoke works its way and embeds into the creases and crevices of the vehicle, you can never completely get the smell out. I've heard stories about smokers in houses where the walls and ceilings literally turn yellow and brown because of the cigarette smoke tar and nicotine. Nasty.

Totally agree, I would never buy a car thats been smoked in.

I sold a house for a woman one time who was such a heavy smoker the tar was dripping down the walls...

That is very strange honesty by a dealer - must be something very wrong with this car like cigarette burns...

This is CYA by the dealer. They don't want to get sued for fraud and get hit with triple damages.

Is this legit? Especially the banner across the top of the picture.

As mentioned if it is, the smell must have been really bad and impossible to get rid of. Wonder if they sold it or sent it to auction?

It's legit. I didn't want to post the actual listing link and break forum rules. But you can see the dealer name at the bottom of the pic and find the actual listing pretty easily yourself.

Its like leading off in the remarks of a house listing "Previous owner blew his brains out in the basement!" lol

You have to really hate yourself and your car to smoke so heavily that the dealer has to put a giant disclaimer on the ad.
