I am not quick to jump on the "criticize American" bandwagon, as my import-loving dad had big respect for them, which faded away as the Town Car turned into a clownlike blob versus a stately design.
I don't have any actual first-hand experience in this, but, from what I've heard, pre-1997 Town-Cars, with their more squared-off traditional styling, are actually worth more than many of the more recent versions with their combination Jaguar/Kia-Amanti body-lines.
I really, really never cared for the original Explorer and was very smitten with those newer 1995+ (released January 1995), as little as I was.
Yeah the 95 refresh was huge for the Explorer, its actually amazing it was basically the same truck. We went back and forth between the Eddie Bauer and the Limited, the Eddie Bauer in those generations was really cool too with the bigger tires and the fender flares. You could basically option it up to be almost the same as a Limited.
