Hey CL folks! I've been doing some research, but have not been able to come up with any answers relating to the actual dimensions of the various UR engines. I'm guessing that that the 2UR is a 1UR with a larger bore/stroke for the increase in displacement. My main question is how does the 3UR compare to the 2UR in physical size and dimensions? I'm not sure if which forum this question belongs, so I just put it here with hopes of getting some input. Thanks in advance for your help!
the 1UR I believe is the 4.6L V8 from the GS/LS line from 2007-2017. The 2UR is a 5.0L from the LS600hL. other than internal displacement, they are nearly identical. I would venture to say the exterior dimensions are the same.
I had a feeling that the 1UR and 2UR were the same externally. My biggest curiosity is just how much bigger/wider is the 3UR to the 1UR? The RC fits the 2UR, how much modification would it need to accommodate the 3UR? I'm guessing custom exhaust manifolds at a minimum, but would the 3UR fit otherwise?
Here's a picture that I found of the Red Bull RCF w/ 3UR. I realize that the front end was cut up to accommodate the extreme steering angle, but it seems the engine "fits"
