I'm just saying that the bank accounts are tied. So while there might not be any direct parts sharing that we can see, the financials and risks are spread across much more than just Nissan.

I don't think many people in the US would buy a high performance Yaris with a 3 cylinder.....

Hopefully they'll bring the GR Corolla (and especially the hatchback) to the USA.

Sales weren't at all the point of my comment.

What specifically do you have a question about? I never discussed sales, so I can't possibly have any idea what you're referring to.

Wow 0-60 in 5.4sec is huge improvement, supports the dyno results these cars have.
Very excited to drive one.
I think its by far the best sports car for the money available.

Saw in one of the videos recently - GR Corolla is coming to the US with same 3 cyl Turbo engine as GR Yaris maybe with higher tune. It will likely also have a AWD system just like GR yaris.

Also one of the finalists for MT's Car of the Year.

Tempted to buy one as a DD, but not sure a small trunk and back seats will work out. The GR Corolla hopefully addresses that with a hatch and bigger back seats. Although not RWD...

The 2022 GR86, upcoming GR Corolla (which should have the GRMN Yaris' just-sub-300hp 1.6L turbo engine, the same AWD system and 6-speed manual) and the coming 2023 Supra 3.0L 6MT (yes, they're actually building one for the last few model years... finally) will be quite a trio in the lineup for a short time.

And then there's whatever Toyota has under wraps with a new up-market MR2... which could be anything from a hybrid-electric to a full electric. Key potential collaborators for that car are Lotus or Porsche, since Lotus has recently developed a flexible sportscar EV platform that they plan to make a new-age Elise with in the lightest form... and since Porsche just the other day confirmed they will make the next-gen Cayman and Boxster as full EVs. Tetsuya Tada has already stated that he'd prefer to work with Porsche on the project.

For now though the first three are awesome sibling performance cars to choose from.

Must watch video for anyone who has interest in GR yaris. Tells you a lot about Toyota's capabilities if they put their mind to it. If the GR Corolla is anything like this it is going to be stupendous!

Chris Harris is right on point. However it's a glaring omission not to include any of the ST165/185/205 Celica GT-Four models (or even the Subaru 22B STI) in that video. It presents as if Toyota has never been down this path before... and they absolutely have with the late 80's and 1990's Celica.

Another win for the twins.

Excited to see the GR Corolla next year and the manual Zupra too. One can only hope they are really developing a new mister two.

Wouldn't it be awesome if manufacturers built some "Russia edition" ICE cars that are not neutered by all the emissions and economy nonsense, and then grey market them in the US?
