Need a new beater

I need a car thats cheap & japanese. This car is going to be for my sister, since she just totalled her current car. Also I was thinking about american cars that are actually made by japanese like the geo prizm and the pontiac vibe. I am looking to spend under $6000.00. By the way, it must be automatic & dependable.

I'd say a Corolla. They are pretty cheap and very reliable.
