If you think all light is the same change your bulbs to ones that only emit ultraviolet.
Apples and Oranges. That's not quite what I said. I said headlights either give you enough light or they don't. Ultraviolet rays are not visible to the human eye....and, over time, can actually damage your eyes.
Light is a huge part of design and styling, there are lighting engineers and designers in every industry where lighting is used - automotive, architecture, landscape, roads, signage, etc.
Case in point, I upgraded my motorcycle headlight with a high end LED from Denali electronics, and it make night and day difference in illuminating the roads, but I don't love its aesthetics. It just doesn't look right on an old school cruiser. I hope sometime in the future someone will design more classic looking retrofit LED headlights.
‘Are you still anti-LED? Your Buick has them…odd you don’t support LED
Wrong. If you remember (since you followed my Encore GX thread)....I said it had LED parking lights, DRLs, and taillights/turn-signals, but the mid-line Select trim version (which I have) uses halogen headlights (which, for my purposes, are perfectly adequate at night). The top-line Essence trim level uses LEDs for the headlights.

Things are much more complex than "enough light or not". Some headlights are very bright but have hot spots, or the light is too diffused which wastes light output. A proper beam pattern but less light is better than an ultra bright light but poor beam pattern.

With all due respect, we can go on all night (no pun intended) about the details, but, as far as I'm concerned, I can either see in front of me, to my satisfaction (and needs), or I can't. Up to now, with halogens, I can.

No......just would have been a waste of money for me. The leather seats in the Essence would have been nice, as also the availability of tilt-down side-mirrors in reverse and the ultra-wide camera rear-view mirror inside. But I can easily do without those few features (and the Essence-trim LEDs), particularly with the superb 360-camera graphics (GM is second to none in camera-graphics). Most of the Essence-level features (with only a few exceptions) are available on the Select trim.
In their headlight ratings IIHS gives the Encore GX with LED headlights an Acceptable rating. The halogens receive a Marginal rating. The Encore GX with LED's gets a Top Safety Pick, but only with LED hwedlights.

do you drive out when it's dark much? plus where you are i imagine has street lights everywhere, so i doubt your car lights are exactly challenged.
if i'm right that's why the halogens are fine for you.
but if you live in an area where i am, where there's few street lights, great modern LED headlights make a gigantic difference. the 2014 camry i had for a few months had halogens and they were pathetic compared to what i've been used to.
and light output is complex because of light 'color', the spread/pattern of the light, and of course, the power/intensity.
my LC has great triple LED headlights although they're not adaptive (steering around corners) like i was used to with my jeep and genesis vehicles. the LC does have 'cornering lights' though which are very bright, so when i take a turn they light up the corner which is very nice.
