Can’t decide on a new car...
The OP is coming from high mileage Audis - i think he is used to German reliability/ maintenance.
If he was coming from Toyota Camry then I would not have suggested luxury German cars.
A used Sclass from 2016/2017 will be very reliable And it’s better than most new cars today.

It took a few months but I dumped my A8L for a Volvo S90 inscription. It’s only been a day but I love it. Love the pilot assist, the interior, the pickup (well it’s now Audi 4.0t). I cannot believe how good the B&W stereo is. Plan on driving for 3 years before going EV. Love this car and do not miss the Audi at all...
Rarely do I see a K900 out in the wild, but I saw one the other day on the highway. No laughing, I thought it looked really good. It was white with dark tint and a V8. Really good looking car.
To the OP, congrats on the Volvo!

I'm kind of surprised there are 80 of them around the U.S. right now. So far this year they are averaging 23 cars sold per month. I wonder how long they'll be around here. If they are discontinued it would be a shame. It's really a nice car.
Having one of those low volume models would be pretty prestigious IMO
I'd say a used Hyundai Genesis / Genesis G80 would be a great deal. For a midsize sedan, it's on the larger side - as a 5'11" guy, I can sit behind myself and cross my legs! It's a lot of leg room back there. I also found it very pleasurable to drive.
You did mention lower maintenance costs - obviously consumables on these luxury midsize/full-size sedans are going to be pretty pricey compared to, say, a Mazda 6 or Honda Accord. Tires and brakes are probably the most notable examples of this. At least with the Hyundai/Genesis you get in the door cheaper.

Good for you on your Volvo decision.
I've had my Volvo S90 T8 Inscription for 2 yrs and 4 mos thus far and don't regret it one bit.
Never had a Volvo before, but am pleased with the ride, performance and looks (inside and out).
As I have stated several times in the past, my next car will likely be Polestar 2 next yr.
BTW, that incredible Bowers and Wilkins system will be upgraded for 2021.
Enjoy
