Right. But there are no "merits". It's a fictional scripted TV show. The original premise is .... flawed.

Haha. I didn't know this--I didn't have HBO when the Sopranos was originally on. Now it all makes sense....

Yeah--I know I would enjoy it. I did that a few years ago with The Wire. But I'm not ready to commit to the 91 episodes. I need stuff that's more manageable.

I've literally watched every episode of The Sopranos at least 150 times, maybe more. Was addicted from episode one when I was a Junior in HS in 1999. I basically have the whole show memorized by line almost, yet I still find new stuff. I watch it all the time, still, all these years later. We need a thread on it. I watch the whole series at least twice a year.

And FWIW those old Escalades were fast for the day (6.0L, 345hp), it would have no problem running down a Town Car IRL, especially at lower speeds like in that chase. Love how Tony throws that truck in park after the wreck, that is exactly why I love column shifters in trucks and we've discussed before how that's a thing GM gets right. Satisfying column shifters, my truck is the same.

"Oh gee Mista, you alright? --SMACK-- Where's my fkin money? I can't hear ya. What you think I'm an a**hole?? You've got 24 hours." LOL.

"I called 911!" LMAO!

Here's how I would rate the seasons:

2
5
6
4
3
1 (but ALL excellent)

Season 2 literally every line Tony says is hilarious, lots of humor-all seasons are hilarious but especially 2. I love season 2 because it was still new, you could tell the actors were really starting to have fun with their roles.

I started watching season 4 the other day and last night lol.

That's one thing that drew me to my specific F-150. It has the column shifter rather than the console shifter. It's satisfying every time I shift it.

Yes sir! Lol I love "throwing it in park" the old school way. GM gets that right, I'm sure Ford does too. Especially when we're talking about American trucks.

I've never seen an F150 in person or in magazines other than with a console gear shift, I like that you can get one with a column shifter!

That's because a column-shifter, today, as with bench seats, is not considered politically correct. Like you, though, I've always liked them.

Wait, how are column shifters not PC?

They're not very popular anymore that's for sure, and I'm in the minority, but in a truck a column shifter feels right.

Non PC??

Makes zero sense lol.

Bench seats where you can sit a third person upfront are passé because of safety. But not column shifters.

^^^^^^^ OK...what I meant by PC (and perhaps I could have used a better term) was that the traditional front-bench seats and column-shifters have pretty much gone out of fashion in the American auto industry...and probably in most of the rest of the world, too. The last traditional front-bench seat I can remember (with the column-shifter included, of course) was a special-order option on the Toyota Avalon.....and it was dropped a number of years ago. A few column-shifters still remain in production (as discussed earlier in the thread) on some large American-designed SUVs and pickups. One nice thing about the column-shifters is that they often include a nice, easy-to-find button, at the very end of the stalk, for the vehicles's Tow/Haul mode for carrying heavy loads.

And, Steve....while there is some truth to it, I don't totally agree that bench seats up front were a safety risk. Besides the three required belt/harness positions up front (center occupant got belt-only),
Cadillac DeVille/DTS models with bench seats up front used to have a normal-sized driver's airbag that protected the driver, and a large oversized air bag which helped protect the other two occupants. It was, in effect, a wall-to-wall airbag in front for all three persons.

Just because something has gone out of fashion doesn't mean it isn't PC.
