So, when I was purchasing my IS 300 F Sport, I was also seriously considering the newest generation of the S60 which had just hit showroom floors but was really leery of purchasing the vehicle after test driving it as the turbo-supercharged engine is just super strained. The power is there, don't get me wrong, but I just didn't think that the engine would hold up over time. So, I took the safe route and stuck with Lexus. I should have stepped outside of the box, in retrospect and purchased the Volvo along with an extended warranty, but that didn't occur to me at the time.

Great car to look at, however. I really do think that Volvo's new lineup is incredibly elegant.

Another cool feature of the newer Volvo's is those that have the start/stop feature, that I usually hate. They Volvos start/stop includes a sensor to detect a signal that SOME traffic lights emit when the light is about to turn green. The Volvo receives that signal & automaticly restarts the engine right before the light turns green.

Volvos are also one of the few cars I've driven where it is trivial to completely and permanently disable the Auto Start Stop feature through the Infotainment, rather than requiring it to be toggled off every time the car is started.

First I've heard of such a system other than from Audi awhile back who was experimenting in a countdown timer in the dash but only in Las Vegas.

Do you have any link to info on this system? It sounds like it may be connected somehow to the emergency pre empt system fire depts. use to change the signal to green on their approach.
